Meet the Parish Staff

Fr. Bruce Forman
Parish Rector

Fr. Bruce Forman, the principal rector of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, has a long tradition and roots in the Saint Louis Catholic community. In Fr. Bruce’s earliest years he attended St. Raphael Grade School where he was active in the liturgy through lecturing and music. He continued his education at Saint Louis University High School where he fine tuned his piano skills and played for the choir, Senior Follies, and liturgies. It was during Fr. Bruce’s high school years that he began to contemplate life as priest for the Church.

Fr. Bruce studied at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. During his undergraduate career, he continued his interest in studying music through extra curriculars in stage band, pep band, and men’s chorus. Near completion of his undergraduate career Fr. Bruce took the first steps to pursue a vocation with the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). After his graduation and before entering the seminary, Fr. Bruce worked as a cab driver giving rides to regular individuals to dignitaries like the Mayor of St. Louis, MO.

After his short stint as cab driver, Fr. Bruce formally entered the Jesuit Seminary under the direction of Fr. Vincent O’Flaherty. After participating in two silent retreats, serving at Regis High School, and working with the Diocese of Springfield, MO. At that time Fr. Bruce discerned the desire for parish ministry and returned to continue his formation at Kenrick Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, MO.

Since his ordination, Fr. Bruce has served Valle Catholic High School, Ste. Genevieve parish, St. Jude (Overland), St. Sabina (Florissant), St. Patrick (Wentzville), and St. Michael’s (Shrewsbury).  Additionally, Fr. Bruce helped form the Young Catholic Musicians in 1974, and directed it until 2022. Fr. Bruce remains active in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and his principal assignment is service and leading the parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (Soulard).

Deacon Tom Gorski
Resident Deacon

Deacon Tom Gorski was ordained in Chicago in 1979. He then served in the diocese of Arlington, Virginia, from 1982 to 1993 and in St. Louis since 1993.

In all three places Tom has focused on family ministry, in particular the sacraments of Baptism and Marriage. Tom has also served with the Matrimonial Tribunal in each diocese. He views these two sacraments as particular moments for many people who are “unchurched” or who are searching for a church to which they can connect to be welcomed home. He finds Sts. Peter and Paul a parish very responsive to people who are searching.

Tom will admit that he very much enjoys preaching. His homilies try to connect the gospel message to the real life experience of the people of the parish and our mutual spiritual journey. He also writes a number of homilies each year for a website (Homilies Alive!).
