#iGiveCatholic
at Sts. Peter & Paul Church

We’re excited to announce that we are participating in the #iGiveCatholic campaign on #GivingTuesday, December 3, 2024. This is a nationally recognized, special day set aside to honor the beauty of our Catholic faith. It offers all of us the opportunity to support the many wonderful Catholic organizations that serve, such as Sts. Peter and Paul of Soulard. Join us to give thanks and give back! It is only with the prayers and generous assistance of our supporters that we are able to accomplish our important work.

This year, we are seeking to raise funds to open a transitional shelter for homeless men in the basement of the church. The space had been used for 42 years as a men's homeless shelter operated by an unrelated nonprofit. That organization consolidated its operations in north St. Louis, leaving the area south of downtown all the way to Festus without a single shelter bed for men. Skilled tradesworkers from a dozen union locals are donating their time and talent to renovate the shelter, redoing the plumbing, flooring, painting, lighting and windows. Archbishop Mitchel Rozanski of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis contributed funds to pay for much of the physical items needed. Through #iGiveCatholic, we are raising money to run the program -- salaries for case managers and nurses, food for the residents, sessions of mental health and job training counseling, utilities, transportation and more. The transitional shelter will house 25 men who are capable of holding employment and permanent housing. They will be trained in life skills, jobs applications, how to prepare a resume, how to do a job interview, how to cook, how to budget, etc--all the life skills necessary for independent living. Any gift you make will go directly to support the first class of shelter residents. We want to continue the mission of Jesus to the poor and homeless.

All #iGiveCatholic gifts made to Sts. Peter and Paul of Soulard on December 3 or during the Advanced Giving Day phase running from November 18 through December 2, will increase our ability to make a difference. Please help us reach our fundraising goal during this year's #iGiveCatholic campaign! Thank you so much for your support!
